If you are a start-up or existing business looking to scale-up or replicate your proven model and would like to consider applying for the Youth Employment Innovation Challenge, here is what you need to know!
What are we looking for?
We are looking for solutions or ideas that can be seeded, scaled or replicated. Applicants are required to nominate the category under which they wish to be considered.
Where are the 'hotspots'?
We are looking to support programs in youth unemployment ‘hotspots’, which are regions within NSW with the highest youth unemployment rates. The identified hotspots include:
New England/North West
We are not looking to fund ideas or solutions outside of these identified hotspots.
We are looking for applications that can demonstrate the following:
Employment outcomes for young people – a solution or idea with the ability to achieve (or contribute to) the end-goal of getting young people into sustainable employment
Knowledge and approach – a good understanding of youth unemployment in the selected ‘hotspot’ region(s) and adopt a place-based model to service delivery
Innovation – a unique approach to service delivery or product design that can deliver quality outcomes for youth unemployment
Commercial sustainability – a clear and realistic budget and business plan for the solution or idea and ability to sustain a commercial momentum
Engagement of young people – the applicant has consulted with young people in the process of designing the solution
Team and capability – a strong team or partnership with the knowledge, skills and experience to successfully bring the product or service to market
Pitch Training & Pitch Event
Shortlisted candidates will receive coaching to be “pitch ready”, this will include a workshop to refine your pitch in Sydney on 30 April 2018. Shortlisted organisations will be expected to attend and pitch at the Youth Employment Innovation Challenge Pitch Event on 3 May 2018.
